Platform Systems Engineer

**Hybrid role, onsite on average 3 days a week in Waltham, MA**
Join our dynamic team to play a pivotal role in enhancing and driving product strategy for our flagship product Pega Infinity. As a Platform System Engineer, you will be a key collaborator with Platform Engineering and Product Management leadership, you will actively participate in cross-functional meetings, taking ownership of actions, deliverables, and reports. Your close work with Product Managers will ensure platform enhancements align seamlessly with the Product Management roadmap giving you the opportunity to make a significant impact and drive innovation at the heart of our technology.

Work cross functionally with executive stakeholders and multiple product, engineering, and support teams to ensure that platform enhancements align with the Product Management roadmap. This includes steering and recommending technical roadmap decisions based on a thorough analysis and understanding of current and future platform needs. Leveraging your deep analytical skills, you'll steer and recommend technical roadmap decisions, shaping the future of our platform to meet both current and evolving needs.
What You'll Do at Pega:
- Collaborate closely with Platform Engineering and Product Management leadership to enhance the Pega Infinity platform by developing a deep understanding of complex technical problems and propose effective resolutions.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings, taking ownership of actions and deliverables, and reporting back on progress.
- Analyze customer incidents for trends on complex issues and provide insightful long-term solutions by working closely with other areas of the organization, such as Global Customer Support, to identify trends and with engineering teams to determine process improvements.
- Ensure proposed solutions are monitored for effectiveness and adjusted as necessary.
Who You Are:
- A creative problem solver who loves designing product enhancements, defining product strategy and showcasing the capability to analyze customer incidents and complex problems
- Hands-on experience in software engineering, with a deep understanding of technical challenges being able to articulate value proposition and solution proposals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to various stakeholders
- Ability to recommend and influence technical roadmap directions based on thorough analysis.
What You've Accomplished:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
- Looking for someone who has come up through the technical ranks with a strong preference for Java/OOP experience and modern cloud architecture (kubernetes, microservices, elastic search, etc..)
- 7-10 years’ experience working in Software Engineering, Product Management, Technical Program Management or combination
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or a Master’s in Business Administration preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
