Meet Our Team:

We are the Launchpad Service Reliability Team - we ensure end-to-end reliability, performance, and efficiency of the entire microservice based ecosystem. Our domain encompasses overseeing the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring high availability, swift incident response, and proactive optimization of system performance. This team operates across the world in a follow the sun model. This team works directly with internal scrum teams and stakeholders to achieve the common goal of client success.

 

Picture Yourself at Pega:

This is a key hands-on technical role within Pega’s Launchpad Engineering team. Launchpad is Pega’s new B2B SaaS application development platform that takes speed, flexibility, full visibility, and control to the next level. As a founding member of this new team, you will form the basis that the entire team is built upon and establish the best practices that drive our service reliability as our Launchpad business grows quickly. The SRE Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing the reliability, quality and efficiency of our services, directly impacting customer satisfaction and the overall success of the Pega Launchpad product.

 

What You'll Do at Pega:

As a Senior Service Reliability Engineer, you are recognized as an engineering authority, with extensive practical experience, strong debugging skills, a meticulous peer reviewer, possessing leadership skills, creativity in coming up with innovative approaches, conducting tactical execution plans, and sharing expertise.

• System Reliability and Incident Management: ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of services. Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve service outages or degradation; lead post-incident reviews and drive root cause analysis and mitigation.

• Monitoring and Performance Tuning: develop and maintain advanced monitoring and alerting systems to detect and mitigate issues proactively; continuously measure and optimize system performance, identifying bottlenecks and points of failure.

• Continuous Improvement: advocate for and implement changes to improve system reliability and scalability; innovate new ways to manage and automate operations tasks.

Collaboration and Advocacy: Work closely with development teams to incorporate best practices and influence architecture, code health, and operational processes. 

• Capacity Planning and Scalability: forecast and plan for the infrastructure needs; implement scalable systems and resource allocation strategies to handle growth and peaks in demand.

• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: create and maintain detailed documentation of the systems, processes, and procedures; facilitate knowledge sharing through regular technical presentations and training sessions.

 

 

Who You Are:

• You are an engineer with a compelling Cloud Operations/DevOps background, having technical knowledge about cloud-native infrastructure and application-level troubleshooting. 

• Proven  technical knowledge in an enterprise cloud environment supporting SAAS applications with a focus on operational delivery excellence and customer service.

• You are self-motivated, inquisitive, and creative, with a passion for continuous improvement and excellent people skills.

• You work well with cross-functional global teams.

• You have demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, techniques, and tools quickly to meet our business requirements.

 

 

What You've Accomplished:

Proficiency in systems engineering (4+ years), with a strong understanding of networking, databases, and cloud services.

• Experience with microservices architecture with Kubernetes 

• Knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Kotlin, Python, C#).

• Experience with automation and configuration management tools.

• Background in designing and operating large-scale, distributed systems. Experience with monitoring and observability tools (New relic, Grafana), and version control systems (Git).

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to problem solving.

• Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment processes and monitoring tools. • Ability to handle pressure and critical situations with a calm and focused approach.
