Assistant Corporate Controller

In this role, you will collaborate with various Pega functions to drive an efficient and accurate close, providing leadership to our international accounting team and driving strategic initiatives around process improvement and automation.
What You'll Do at Pega:
- Lead the global financial closing process – coordinate various teams and functions efforts to the schedule; ensure that all required financial data is properly captured, reconciled, documented, and disclosed.
- Manage year-end financial audit and communication with external auditors. Interact with external auditors on a daily, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure timing objectives are met and issues are proceeding toward resolution.
- Collaborate closely with FP&A, Legal, People team, IT, Tax, Procurement, Facilities and Cloud teams to ensure all transactions are properly recorded and proper internal controls over financial reporting and disclosure exist.
- Provide leadership and direction to International Accounting teams.
- Evaluate and continually improve accounting procedures, processes, and systems to ensure standardized worldwide close process and efficient operations.
- Evaluate and incorporate intelligent automation solutions into continuous improvement projects to increase digitalization of the function (incl. AI and Robotic Process Automation).
- Collaborate with upstream business groups and IT to identify and implement transformative changes to business systems and ERP.
Who You Are:
- Highly motivated and adaptable
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Strong interpersonal skills, including discretion, tact, and courtesy
- High Attention to detail with good organization skills - the ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Proactive change agent and leader with integrity and well-developed problem-solving skills.
- Able to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Experienced in solving multiple and complex challenges through critical thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
- Understanding financial, regulatory, and audit key concepts/standards (Sarbanes-Oxley Act, PCAOB, COSO, GAAP, SEC Reporting, and Financial Statements).
- Understanding internal control, audit methods, core business procedures, risks, and related exposure.
What You've Accomplished:
- CPA with 12+ years of public accounting and hands-on public company experience.
- Strong technical accounting skills. Independently research accounting literature and interpret guidance to support own conclusions.
- Experience in scaling people, processes, and systems to support company evolution and fast paced growth.
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing accounting teams.
