Ravesh Lala Joins Pega to Drive Clients’ Modernization of Legacy Applications 

Mr. Lala will assume position of head of legacy transformation practice at Pega 

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – November 19, 2024 – Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), The Enterprise Transformation Company™, today announced it has appointed Ravesh Lala as head of Pega’s legacy transformation practice. Mr. Lala will spearhead the market execution of this practice to help clients modernize legacy applications on their path toward becoming autonomous enterprises.  

Mr. Lala joins Pega with over 20 years of experience in management consulting, enterprise software, AI, legacy systems modernization, and cloud transformation. He previously held senior leadership roles at IBM across IBM’s Consulting, Watson, and Cloud businesses. Most recently, he served as vice president and worldwide go-to-market leader for industry solutions in support of IBM Cloud for Financial Services, where he led go-to-market and revenue growth for the core banking and payments business across IBM Cloud and IBM Consulting. Additionally, Mr. Lala was instrumental in the initial launch of the IBM Watson business unit, driving enterprise adoption of IBM’s AI, expanding market reach via their global system integrators ecosystem, and scaling up revenues in the enterprise segment.  

Pega’s legacy transformation practice will address a unique market opportunity, helping clients currently modernize legacy applications, eliminate technical debt, harness the power of AI, and accelerate their journey to the cloud.  Mr. Lala will assist clients in strategizing and executing their transformation and modernization initiatives using Pega GenAI Blueprint™, the AI-infused workflow design platform empowering organizations to quickly rethink and replace mission-critical workflows. He will report to John Higgins, chief of client and partner success.  

New AI-driven legacy discovery capabilities with Pega GenAI Blueprint announced today will help IT teams quickly analyze existing systems and reimagine workflows while reducing technical debt.  With more than 60,000 blueprints created since its launch, Pega GenAI Blueprint is the fastest adopted solution in Pega’s history. With a natural language description of an app idea, it designs components in seconds using generative AI and drawing on Pega’s expertise, industry best practices, and internet knowledge. This makes innovation easy so anyone can go from app idea to functional app design exponentially faster and more completely than any other workflow design tool.  

Mr. Lala, who moved from India to the U.S. in 1993, has a Bachelor of Engineering/electronics from the University of Pune in India, as well as an executive education degree in advanced technology strategy from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
